HOW GUMP VIBRATORY SCREENERS WORK
Eccentric weights on the upper and lower ends of the motor shaft are used to induce a vibratory action of the screen about the center of its mass.  Angular adjustments of the lower control weight with relation to the upper weight provides variable control of the spiral screening pattern.  This ability to control the speed and pattern at which the material travels across the screen provides the operator with the means to achieve maximum throughput for the product being screened.  A single screener can handle 1 to 3 separations when properly equipped. 
SCREENING PATTERN VARIABLE
The pattern required to obtain the highest efficiency of product over the screen will vary with wet and dry materials, their size, moisture content, percentage of solids present, etc.  The pattern of travel is regulated by the lead angle of the bottom motor weight with respect to the top motor weight.
